Default OS X Mavericks

Has anyone tried to upgrade to OS X to Mavericks yet, does the game still run on it?

I've only played about 1/2 hour since downloading Maverick. Everything seems ok. Maverick took a couple of hours to download and install on my slow broadband. I'm using an '11 MacBook Pro. S!

Haven't seen any problems in running game since Mavericks upgrade.

OpenGL has been brought up to v4.1 so there might be some benefits with that.

Good to hear Dog3. Haven't upgraded yet but I try to do it ASAP. My FPS isn't too hot so any improvements on that would be a great plus.

While on the subject, do you guys have any OS X related hints how to improve FPS? I have set the settings to about as low as you can go. I also always try to remember to shut down all other programs and external processes (such as Dropbox etc.) before I start the game.

Any other ideas how to improve performance?

I think that the game is primarily CPU-limited and not graphics-limited. It is not multi-threaded either, except for multithreading that might be used by related libraries. Basically, processor speed is what matters, i.e. "speed kills", so do what you can to limit what other apps are running while you're playing. To improve fps by adjusting game settings, reduce graphics settings such as "visible player limit" as much as possible. You can also adjust your style of play since I think that you tend to have better fps while flying as compared to fighting in a big city.

As with any upgrade, make sure that you're "backed up" and that your backup is good before making a major change.

gl, and s!

I installed Mavericks last night and was playing the game about 2 hours after the download and installation. If anything, I'd say that the game runs more smoothly with a slightly higher frame rate (2-3 more FPS) than it did before because of what this update did under the hood.

It works very well with the new operating system, do not be afraid to install and then enjoy the game!

Okay, installed Mavericks and what a pleasent surprise. I didn't get to see action on a town yet, but on a rural area I got at least +5 FPS - very nice!

Installation went smoothly in all other aspects also so can definately recommend upgrading.

Thanks for all the answers, S!

Game is VERY buggy. Many crashes. Often crashes on respawn

Have not had the same experiences as you have. The game has never crashed for me on OS X, but maybe I'm just a lucky son of a gun.

Ouch. You didn't have this problem before the update?

I've never had a crash yet either *knocking on wood*
