Possible fix for some CTD problems:

I have a Win7 system with a GTX560 card. Occasionally I got a momentary black screen and a message that the video card (or was it the driver) had stopped working and had subsequently recovered. If this happened during the game, it was an automatic CTD. The following seems to have rectified the situation (2 weeks and no reoccurance):

open the NVidia control pane
go to "3D settings"
go to "set physx configuration"
set the Physx processor to the GPU and not "auto-select"
